InnoTrans Berlin 2022

Mayor Thomas Deffner visits GVE

As part of the regular company visits, Lord Mayor Thomas Deffner was now a guest at the owner-managed company GVE Viehbeck Engineering + Systemtechnik GmbH in the Ansbach Technology and Innovation Center. According to Günther Viehbeck, founder of the company, GVE Viehbeck has been a successful supplier to the rail industry since 1996. Products from the Ansbach-based company ranging from restraint bar systems and special welding assemblies to mechatronic shading and partition wall systems can be found, for example, in local and long-distance trains in Germany, in all countries in Europe, and worldwide in China, Russia and Australia. "We do not supply standard products, but solve the really complex problems of our customers. To realize this, long-established and reliable relationships with train manufacturers are of utmost importance" says Günther Viehbeck. His son Thomas Viehbeck will lead the company into the next generation.

After the foundation, first orders were still manufactured in the own cellar and delivered to the customers. With the move to Ansbach and later to the TIZ, the company was able to grow, expand the product range, patent a technically high-quality shading system and gain new employees.

To this end, there is a close exchange with the mechanical engineering school and the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences. According to Thomas Viehbeck, students from the university are appreciated for the interesting ideas and solutions they bring to the projects.

Mayor Thomas Deffner was impressed by the medium-sized company, which has all the relevant approvals for rail vehicle construction and, as a partner to the rail industry, manufactures for high-speed trains all over the world.
